Supposedly each chapter focuses on a different character… with flashbacks. That’s why the chapters are always longer than they’re meant to be, because I try desperately to fit too much into a small space.
I don’t know when I came up with the idea for it – probably either when I was working or driving, because I constantly daydream doing both. All the pages are drawn in HB pencil, scanned and cleaned up, then coloured with Corel Painter, which takes me… well fuck knows how long it takes me to be honest, but probably not long enough. I’ve read things by other people which say that they write a storyline, then a script, then they make up the page structure and that’s all before they’ve even started drawing, but I’m just not that organised so I admire anyone who can do that. I sort of have a script, and a rough storyline, but I sorta make it up as I go along.
